Do I have to go to a lab or office?
No. My practice is 100% online. I mail a simple testing kit to your house. You complete it at home and mail it back. Samples are taken from the saliva, which for hormone levels, can be more accurate than blood. Once I review your results, we have a video consultation, and I have your medication mailed to you.
Which hormones do you test and monitor?
We test and monitor estradiol, progesterone, DHEA, testosterone and cortisol. The cortisol is measured at four times throughout the day so that we can graph your cortisol curve.
Do you test or monitor any other labs beyond hormones?
I act as a partner with your regualar doctor. Insurance typically covers a lab workup to rule out other conditions and therefore most patients have already completed this. If you don’t feel that you have had a comprehensive workup before seeing me and you don’t want to use your regular doctor, a good website to choose is www.functionhealth.com. For $365, you can order your own blood test and I am happy to review the results with you.
What kind of medications do you use?
I often use “compounded” medications. These are custom-made by specialized pharmacies to fit your specific needs. Regular pharmacies (like CVS or Walgreens) often don’t carry these specialized forms of hormones, which is why many regular doctors struggle to prescribe them. These include estrogen and testosterone creams, enclomiphene tablets, and GLP-1 medications.
Do you take any insurance?
I do not. Insurance companies often refuse to cover hormone optimization or the advanced testing I use. By cutting out insurance, I avoid their restrictions and am able to offer you better prices. This allows me to give you the exact treatment you need without a middleman telling us “no” or charging us additional fees.
How long until I start feeling better?
Most of my patients begin to feel a difference in energy, mood, and focus within a few weeks. However, it can take 3 to 6 months to feel the full benefits as your body adjusts to the new optimization.
What if I am not satisfied? Do you offer refunds?
Yes. My goal is for you to feel great and be happy with your care. If you are not satisfied, I will refund your membership fee. I simply deduct the specific costs of any testing kits and medications you received, as those are expenses I cannot recover.
What if I am already taking other medications?
During our consultation, I review your full medical history and current medications to ensure that hormone therapy is safe for you and won’t conflict with anything else you are taking.
